Akinola
joined Huddersfield from Lincoln City in the summer, putting pen-to-paper on an
initial one-year contract that runs until the summer of 2020.
During
the 2018/19 campaign, the 18-year-old has had experiences in both first team
and academy football.
He
was named on the Lincoln bench as the Imps were beaten on penalties by
Accrington Stanley in the Second Round of the Checkatrade Trophy.
Alongside
this, he was also an integral part of the Young Imps side that reached the
third round of the FA Youth Cup.
Following
the turn of the year, he went out on loan to NPL Division One South East side
Lincoln United and picked up the man of the match award on his debut.
The
tough-tackling midfielder subsequently went on trial at Huddersfield and
impressed during that period.
Akinola
made his debut in the side's 2-1 victory over Tadcaster Albion in the Buildbase
FA Trophy on Tuesday night. |
