And there were a number of surprise results, including BetVictor Isthmian League North club AFC Sudbury beating Southern League Premier Division South side Harrow Borough at the MEL Group Stadium.

Billy Holland broke the deadlock to give the Suffolk hosts the lead 2 minutes after half-time and Sean Marks made sure with a second to see off the Step 3 side in the 68th minute.

But probably Basildon United`s 5-3 win over Harrow`s league rivals Chesham United is even more notable as the Essex side sit second bottom of the table with only one league win to date!

Ayo Odukoya proved to be the Basildon hero with a brace.

Royston Town earned some joy for the Southern Premier Division Central by winning 2-1 at Isthmian Premier outfit Brightlingsea Regent.

Adam Watkins gave the Crows a 33rd minute lead that Jake Turner cancelled out from the penalty spot right on half-time.

But 9 minutes from time, Josh Castiglione popped up with the Royston winner.

In all-Southern Premier Division ties, Central rivals AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Banbury United must meet for a third time in a week after a 0-0 draw at Hayden Road, while the all- Premier South tie between Gosport Borough and Farnborough went to the hosts 3-1, thanks to goals from Marley Ridge after 54 minutes, Joe Lea on 66 minutes and then new loanee Harry Warwick 6 minutes into stoppage time – and all after Connor Cullen had given the visitors a first-minute lead.

Another all-Premier South encounter saw neighbours Salisbury and Dorchester Town battle out a 3-3 draw at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.

Tom Bath gave the Magpies a great start with a goal inside 2 minutes which Dan Fitchett eventually cancelled out 4 minutes into the second half.

A penalty by Bath 4 minutes later restored the visitors` lead only for Bay Downing to pull the Whites back on terms in the 71st minute.

Tom Blair then gave Dorchester the lead for a third time, but Toby Holmes earned Salisbury a second crack with a stoppage time equaliser.

Not too far away, two other Premier South teams must also try again as Wimborne Town and Taunton Town shared a 2-2 draw.

But the visiting Peacocks will be the happier side as they found themselves 2-0 down with goals from Sam Bayston in the 46th and 55th minutes.

But Rocky Neal on 73 minutes and then Harry Kite 10 minutes from time pulled Taunton back on terms and earn a replay in Somerset next week.

The all-Premier Central game between Lowestoft Town and Coalville Town at Crown Meadow went to league form with the visitors running out 4-2 winners.

A brace of penalties from Adam McGurk and singles for Jack Duggan and Luke Shaw sealed the Ravens win, although it may have been different when, at 1-3 down, the Trawlerboys were awarded a penalty for a foul by Jamie Towers, but Connor Deeks blazed it high and wide.

Lowestoft`s neighbours Leiston can also concentrate on their battle to stay up after losing 4-0 at The Lamb to Premier Central rivals Tamworth.

Rhys Hoenes gave the Lambs the lead on the half-hour mark and Tyrell Waite added a second 5 minutes before the break.

Dan Creaney made it tie over with a third just past the hour-mark with the same player making it 4-0 in time added on.

AFC Totton, second bottom of the Southern Division One South, ousted Southern Premier South side Weston-super-Mare from the competition at Testwood Stadium after extra-time.

It was all-square at 90 minutes after Craig Feeney had cancelled out Joel Randall`s 17th minute opener for the Seagulls in the 35th minute.

But after Ryan Jones had put the visitors in front 7 minutes into overtime, the Stags had Liam Farrugia bagging a brace in the 100th and 105th minutes to cause an upset.

There was an upset too at the Enclosed Ground where Isthmian League South East side Whitehawk beat Southern Premier South strugglers Hendon 4-1 with goals from Connor Tighe in the 7th and 20th minutes, David Martin from the spot on 73 minutes and Lewis Unwin 8 minutes from time – Connor Calcutt had replied for the Greens in the 71st minute.

And, although Beaconsfield Town are bottom of the Southern Premier South table, their 1-0 defeat at Isthmian League South Central side Westfield must still be classed as an upset – George Frith with the only goal after 22 minutes.

Isthmian League North side Soham Town Rangers will be favourites now after obtaining a replay following a 0-0 draw at Southern Premier Central hosts St Ives Town.

Other Southern Premier Division teams through are Central sides Redditch United, Kings Langley and Biggleswade Town and South outfit Metropolitan Police.

The Reds beat Southern Division One Central high-flyers Corby Town, who will feel as though they missed an opportunity after they had led 2-1 at one stage before also missing a penalty to open up a two-goal advantage.

But a Rhys Hilton hat-trick proved decisive in the end for the struggling hosts.

Mitchell Weiss was Kings` two-goal hero as they won 5-3 at Isthmian South East hosts Phoenix Sports.

Biggleswade edged out Corby`s league rivals Bedworth United 2-1 at the Carlsberg Stadium, courtesy of Shaun Lucien and Shane Bush after the Greenbacks had led 1-0 at the break.

The Met were involved in a thriller at Imber Court against Isthmian League North visitors Tilbury before edging it 4-3.

Ross Murdoch gave the home side a 16th minute lead that Brian Moses cancelled out almost immediately.

Marlon Agyakwa then had the Dockers in front just before the break only for Murdoch`s second 3 minutes after half-time to make it 2-2.

Jerry Arthur put the Met ahead in the 53rd minute but Tilbury had Eljay Worrall sent-off for a second bookable offence 3 minutes later.

The ten-men equalised though through Ola Ogunwamide on the hour-mark only for Jack Mazzone to win it for the home side in the 66th minute.

Bowing out though are the Met`s near-neighbours and league rivals Walton Casuals, beaten 2-1 at The Bibby Financial Services Stadium by Isthmian Premier side Worthing.

After Rohdell Gordon had given Casuals the lead right on half-time, Ricky Aguiar levelled 9 minutes into the second period and then Lloyd Dawes won it for the Rebels in stoppage time.

Southern Division One Central leaders Berkhamsted went out 3-1 at Isthmian Premier side Hornchurch, for whom Charlie Stimson bagged a brace for his managerial father Mark, with sub Marvin Morgan adding the other near the end – all after Josh Chamberlain had given Berko a 12th minute lead.

Southern Premier Central side Rushall Olympic had the advantage of playing against ten-men for the entire second half at The Meres against Northern Premier League Premier Division hosts Grantham Town, who rallied to win 5-3.

The Pics led 2-0 with goals from the returning Levi Rowley on 13 and 20 minutes.

Rob Atkinson reduced the deficit and Nathan Smith equalised before Kark Byrne was shown a straight red card on 42 minutes.

Rowley completed his hat-trick to make it 3-2 with 54 minutes gone, but the Gingerbreads completed a remarkable win with Remayne Campbell and a Craig Westcarr brace in the final 30 minutes with ten-men!

Southern Division One Central lost AFC Dunstable, who were beaten 4-0 at Creasey Park by Isthmian South East high-flyers Hastings United, whose Sam Adams, Ben Pope, Davide Rodari and an own goal saw them comfortably through.

AFC`s league rivals Barton Rovers though gained some revenge by winning 2-1 at Hastings` league rivals Ashford United, thanks to Nathan Tshikuna and Connor Vincent either side of half-time – Aaron Condon replying 8 minutes from time.

But the tables were turned again at Haywards Heath Town where Aylesbury United suffered a 3-1 defeat – Sidney Ibie`s last-gasp penalty being all the Ducks could muster after Josh Spinks, Nathan Cooper and Ryan Warwick had given the Isthmian South East hosts a three-goal lead.

Southern Division One South side Sholing earned a second chance after holding Isthmian South Central hosts Marlow to a 0-0 draw at the Alfred Davis Memorial Ground, as do Southern Premier South outfit Hayes & Yeading United after they drew 1-1 at Isthmian Premier Wingate & Finchley, courtesy of Phil Roberts` equaliser on the hour-mark after the hosts had led from the 9th minute through Roman Michael-Percil.

And Southern Division One South triumphed over Southern Division One Central at Meadow View Park as Frome Town went home with a 2-1 win against Thame United, thanks to a Rex Mannings brace in the 47th and then the 3rd minute of stoppage time after Dan West had given the home side the lead on the half-hour mark.

As far as all-Northern Premier League ties were concerned, only Division One South East side Sutton Coldfield Town`s 2-1 win on the 3G at Coles Park against a Stafford Rangers side who have won the Trophy in 1972 and 1979 was an upset.

Bradley Grayson broke the deadlock to give the visitors a 51st minute lead that Reece Leek cancelled out within 4 minutes and then Reece Gibson scored what turned out to be the Royals winner in the 63rd minute.

In all-NPL Premier ties, Ashton United enjoyed a good 1-0 win at Warrington Town, courtesy of a 67th minute Sam Sheridan effort, while Rob Wilson`s 34th minute penalty sealed Lancaster City`s passage against former finalists Witton Albion at the Giant Axe.

Buxton edged out Hyde United by the odd goal in five at Silverlands, but the hosts left it late after the Tigers led 2-1 with 5 minutes to go before Diego De Girolamo and Liam Hardy turned the tie the Bucks way.

Basford United enjoyed a more comfortable 3-0 passage at home to Mickleover Sports, thanks to a Liam Hearn brace sandwiched by a Josh Law effort.

Morpeth Town made no mistake at home to NPL Division One South East visitors Cleethorpes Town, running out 6-1 winners in which Sean Reid bagged a brace.

Danny Parish bagged a brace to help Isthmian League North side Maldon & Tiptree cause an upset by knocking out Isthmian Premier visitors Cray Wanderers 3-0 at the Wallace Binder Ground – Jerome Slew scored the other for the Jammers.

In ties involving all-Isthmian Premier teams, Carshalton Athletic made home advantage tell over Merstham, winning 3-1 with goals from Christie Pattison, Ernold Haxhiu and Omar Koroma, with a familiar name netting the Moatsiders` consolation late on – sub Barry Hayles.

Alfie Paxman and Sam Hasler sealed Folkestone Invicta`s 2-0 home win over Lewes.

East Thurrock United won 2-1 at Theobalds Lane against Cheshunt with early goals from Alex Clark and Frankie Merrifield, while Haringey Borough beat Horsham 3-0 with goals from Michael Ademiliyu, Chid Onokwai and Jorge Djassi-Sambu.

Former Trophy winners Kingstonian sailed through 4-2 at `home` to landlords Corinthian-Casuals with a Tom Kavanagh brace following Louie Theophanous and Harry Osborne efforts – Shaun Okojie and Nathaniel Pinney both netting penalties for the `visitors`.

Bishop`s Stortford and Enfield Town shared a 1-1 draw at the ProKit UK Stadium with Billy Bricknell`s equaliser for Town coming 5 minutes from time after Shomari Barnwell had given the Blues a 15th minute lead.

Doug Tuck was on target twice for Bognor Regis Town as they won 3-1 at Isthmian South Central side Uxbridge, while Razzak Coleman scored the only goal 15 minutes from time to see Uxbridge`s league rivals Tooting & Mitcham United through at Isthmian South East hosts Sittingbourne.
