Rickards
replaces Ivor Green, who resigned as first team manager at the beginning of the
month since when Joe Obi has been in caretaker charge.
Rickards,
a UEFA A badge coach, is with SkyBet Championship side Derby County as under-13s
coach as well as spending almost five years with Mansfield Town where he is
head of recruitment and was a first team coach and also helped guide the Stags`
under-18s to a third successive EFL Youth Alliance league title win in 2017/18.
He has also been assistant-manager at Tamworth.
Before
taking up coaching, the 37-year-old carved out a successful career in non-League
football with the likes of Tamworth, Kidderminster Harriers, Redditch United, Brackley
Town and Halesowen Town.
Chairman
Brian Henney welcomed the new manager, wished him good luck in the post and thanked
Joe Obi for stepping in over the last few weeks and taking charge through the
process whilst also being a candidate.
Rickards
will announce any backroom staff changes following the appointment once he has
spoken with all, in his own words he stated there would be no changes
currently. |
