The
Owls have beaten off a good deal of competition to bring the 25-year-old back
to The Linden Homes Club after his release by NPL Premier Division side Gainsborough
Triinity, who are undergoing something of a squad overhaul under new boss
Curtis Woodhouse.
Topliss
switched to the Northolme from Clee in May.
The
right-back had been with the Owls since arriving from National League North
side Alfreton Town in July 2018.
A
tough tackler, he spent 8 years developing through the Hull City academy system
before securing a loan move to North Ferriby United in January 2015 and was an
integral part of United’s Buildbase FA Trophy success in 2015 and then the
promotion-winning campaign in the National League North in 2015/16 beating AFC
Fylde in the play-off final.
However,
relegation followed for the Villagers in 2016/17 when he made 39 appearances,
and he moved to Alfreton in June 2017.
