Smith, who can play at left back or centre-back, was with National League side Dagenham & Redbridge last season and amassed over 250 appearances for Yeovil Town over two spells at the club.

He started out in non-League football with Enfield, Waltham Forest and Potters Bar Town before being signed by then-League One Yeovil Town in 2008.

He went on to be Yeovil's record appearance holder in the Football League.

He also spent three seasons at Chesterfield, where he was named fans' player of the year and the players' player of the year in 2013 before re-joining the Glovers.

He is a Jamaican international with two caps for his country.

Both Smith and Dempsey surprisingly started in last night`s Emirates FA Cup defeat by Carlisle United.
