A
statement from the club reads: "FC Oswestry Town have appointed Oswestry
based Nathan Leonard as First Team Manager with immediate effect, following the
departure of Manager Matt Burton due to a change of work circumstances.
"He
comes from a family steeped in Oswestry football tradition.”
Managing
director Nick Maguire said: “Everyone at FC Oswestry Town thanks Matt Burton
for the magnificent work he's done at the club since the start of last season,
he leaves the club in a great place, leading the pack for most of the season.
“We
are all really excited about Nathan coming on board and as a local lad, he will
hopefully encourage more local people to support us at Park Hall.”
Leonard,
who has previously managed Guilsfield in the Cymru North, was excited at the
prospect of managing his local side.
He
said: “I'm really pleased to be offered the opportunity to manage my hometown
club. I'm taking on the role at an extremely positive time and hopefully I can
continue the good work started by Matt Burton this season and keep our winning
run going”.
