Former Cambridge United reserve team captain Horne joins the Blues from league rivals AFC Sudbury.

Horne, who made 21 appearances for Sudbury during a loan stint from the Abbey Stadium in 2013/14, returned to the club on a permanent basis from Evo-Stik Southern Premier outfit St Neots Town in December 2017.

The 22-year-old spent much of the 2016/17 season operating in the heart of Soham Town Rangers’ midfield.

Horne joins Bury at a time when two players from last season have decided to depart.

Noel Aitkens is expected to join Evo-Stik Southern League Central side Leiston once compensation has been agreed, while Tevan Allen has also decided that his future lies away from Ram Meadow and has joined Bostik North newcomers Coggeshall Town.

The versatile right-sided player broke into the Bury team during the 2013/14 season, having previously been a part of the Dagenham & Redbridge academy.

He joined rivals AFC Sudbury in February 2017 but returned to Bury in October of that year.
