international clearances had been received.
Now
38, LuaLua started his career with Colchester United, where he played 61 times
and scored 15 goals – form that attracted the attention of then-Newcastle boss
Sir Bobby Robson, who signed him in 2000 and he played 67 times and scored 9 goals
for the Magpies.
In
2004 he moved to Portsmouth, where he had been on loan the previous season, and
played 72 games and netted 15 goals for Pompey before embarking on a nomadic career
abroad, firstly with Greek side Olympiakos.
Moves followed to Qatar-based Al-Arabi, back to Greece with Olympiakos and then
Cypriot outfit Omonia. He returned to England with Blackpool in 2011/12 before
moving to Turkey with Karabukspor for two years, Caykur Rizespor, Akhisar
Belediyespor and Sanlıurfaspor.
It
was back to Cyprus next for the well-travelled forward in May 2017, with Merit
Alsancak Yeşilova, Doğan Türk
Birliği and Gìrne Halk Evì,
who were his last club before returning to England.
He
has 31 caps for DR Congo, scoring 7 goals.
