The 23-year-old had only joined BetVictor Southern League Division One South side Basingstoke Town last month.

The son of the former Birmingham and Portsmouth midfielder and Basingstoke manager Martin, he started his career with Reading and progressed through the ranks to play half-a-dozen first team appearances for the Royals as well as 5 on loan at Scottish side Dundee United and 9 in the National League outfit Boreham Wood.

Capped by England at under-19 and under-20 level, after Reading announced that he would be leaving the club upon the completion of his contract in 2017 he joined Icelandic club Stjarnan on trial at the end of June 2017 before similar stints with Bracknell Town and Aldershot Town.

Whilst on trial with the Shots, he ruptured his medial collateral ligament in a friendly against Wycombe Wanderers and had been of the game before joining `Stoke.
