The recent run of results has seen `Church bow out of all cup competitions at the first hurdle and Saturday`s defeat at home to AFC Rushden & Diamonds left them just outside the relegation zone.

The ex-Aston Villa and Walsall striker was appointed in June following a successful stint in charge at Total Motion Midland League Premier Division outfit Walsall Wood.

Byfield had recent experience at Step 3 level with Stratford Town and Redditch United and a large book of player contacts, made the decision a straightforward one at the time.

But the task has proven to be too big for the 43-year-old Jamaican international.
