Several of the Ducks who finished the 2017/18 season with the club have re-signed along with Max Hercules.
Hercules is an 18-year-old exciting winger who has made 60 appearances for Tring Athletic since breaking into their first-team two years ago.
He played a big part in Tring's run to the Buildbase FA Vase Fifth Round last season.
Hercules – a well-known name in Aylesbury due to Cliff Hercules, who made 669 appearances, scoring 301 goals in the process, both club records, between 1984 and 2002 – is joined by Ollie Hogg, Jack Hopwood, Harry Jones, Ben Seaton, Callum Mapley, Matt Peake-Pijnen, Greg Williams, Aaron Berry, Jake Bewley and Jack Wood from last season`s Ducks squad.
Now firmly established in the United engine room, this will be Hogg's third full season with the Ducks having made the switch from Aylesbury FC via spells with Tring Athletic and Leighton Town.
Hopwood is a young goalkeeper who joined from Tring Athletic midway through last season after three and a half years with the Hertfordshire outfit.
Jones is a midfielder who made his debut at the start of last season aged just 17, going on to feature 45 times for the Ducks.
Seaton came to the club in October 2017 and ended the season winning the most improved player award for his ever-improving displays.
Mapley is a young defender who joined the club in January having previously been with Beaconsfield Town and Holmer Green.
Peake-Pijnen is a 20-year-old who arrived in February from Oxford City having also featured in the Southern League for Beaconsfield SYCOB and, last season, Banbury United - where he made 22 appearances.
Williams signs on again for what will be his twelfth season with Aylesbury United and is currently on 438 appearances - second in the all-time club appearances list - and, even in his early 40s as he is now, continues to turn in fine performances to the extent that he won supporters' and managers` player of the year awards last season.
Berry is a forward with an impressive scoring record in Southern League football. He came through the FAB Academy before making the breakthrough with Beaconsfield SYCOB and has also played for Egham Town from whom he joined United.
Bewley is a left-back who has barely missed a game since joining the Ducks four years ago and has now amassed more than 180 club appearances, scooping three end-of-season awards along the way.
Previously with Leighton Town and has had spells at both Dunstable Town and AFC Dunstable.
Club captain Wood has shown incredible loyalty to Aylesbury having passed the 400 appearances mark last season as he enters his ninth season with the Ducks. |
