Bowey has brought in the experienced pairing of Shaun Vipond and Matty Wade as well as winger Sam Norris, midfielder Lee McMahon and forward Jermaine Francois and still has irons in the fire to recruit more.
Bowey has finally landed midfielder or defender Vipond - after chasing him for the past four years:
Vipond has played for Carlisle United at first-team level and then chalked up 100 games for Workington AFC – many in the Conference North.
He has since had spells with Blyth Spartans, West Auckland Town and Jarrow Roofing.
Wade has played 200 games for Blyth Spartans in two spells and is still only 26 years old.
Apart from Spartans, Wade has also served South Shields, Washington and West Allotment Celtic amongst his former clubs.
Norris is a former Whitley Bay winger who has also been on the books at Durham City and Team Northumbria.
McMahon had two spells with Hebburn Town, sandwiched by a stint with South Shields.
The Boldon-born midfielder numbers Jarrow Roofing, Ryhope CW and Washington and Seaham Red Star amongst his other previous clubs.
Francois was originally on the books at Fulham before moving north to attend Northumbria University to study Sports Management.
He turned out for South Shields and Blyth AFC.
