Keane (pictured) has played under Basford boss Steve Chettle when he was manager of Nuneaton
Borough and spent a spell at the club last season.
The
23-year-old Nottingham born defender signed for Vanarama National League North
club Leamington in June having ended the 2018/19 season in the Northern Premier
with Basford as he worked his way back to full fitness following an injury hit
campaign that began at Boston United.
Beginning
his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, he signed for Notts County prior to the
beginning of the 2014/15 season and quickly made his League debut against
Colchester United.
After
County were relegated at the end of that season he was released and got his
first taste of National League North football at Nuneaton, the following
season, moving on to Total Motion Midland League outfit Worcester City for
2016/17.
A
brief move to Kidderminster Harriers preceded a switch to Alfreton Town and
then to Basford in September 2018.
Also
re-joining the club is youngster James, who had a loan spell at Greenwich
Avenue last December.
James
begin his career playing at youth level for both Sheffield United and Rotherham
United.
In
July 2018, James made the move to Oxford United and played in the U`s under-23
side.
He
joined Basford on a month`s loan in December 2018 and when he returned to Oxford,
his short-term contract wasn't renewed.
He
signed for Tamworth in February 2019 and has recently returned from a loan
spell with Southern League Division One Central outfit Corby Town.
Goalkeeper
Tonge also signs after impressing in training in recent weeks.
Tonge,
23, who has his own goalkeeping coaching academy, has previous experience with
Arnold Town, Blidworth Welfare and Ilkeston Town.
