Scarborough
appointed Deacey based on his excellent track record of getting teams promoted
from the Northern Premier League and the league above.
Unfortunately,
the progress the club and manager had anticipated had not been attained.
The
club have handed the post to Darren Kelly, who moved aside from being manager
of league rivals Hyde United in May to become its sporting director.
Kelly,
appointed by the Tigers in 2016, stepped down to take up the new role he had
been working towards.
Kelly
began the 2015/16 campaign in charge of the-League One side Oldham Athletic but
was dismissed after just nine games.
He
then had a 47-day spell in charge of Vanarama National League side FC Halifax
Town before joining free-falling Hyde on April 1st 2016.
The
former Derry City, Portadown, York City and Carlisle United defender actually
finished his playing career with Scarborough during the time they were groundsharing
with Bridlington Town.
A
former Northern Ireland under-21 international, his first job after retiring as
a player was as an academy coach at Sunderland in January 2015 |
