The former England goalkeeper has snapped up highly-rated 26-year-old left-sided defender Alex Gudger from National League North side Brackley Town.
Gudger began his playing career with home-town club Nuneaton Town.
He came through the Boro ranks but after making just two senior appearances, he departed for Rugby Town.
Gudger made 110 appearances for Valley, scoring 9 goals, and collected three player of the year awards in his first season with the club and was made the club captain for the 2013/14.
His form at Rugby eventually saw him make join then-National League North side Worcester City in May 2015.
Gudger made 40 appearances for Worcester before departing for Brackley Town in July 2016.
In his first season with the Northamptonshire outfit, Gudger won the sponsor’s player of the year award and went to enjoy an excellent campaign last time out which saw the Saints beat National League side Bromley in the Buildbase FA Trophy Final on penalties at Wembley last month.
Gudger recently took part in Jamie Vardy`s V9 Academy, which has already seen several of its participants move upwards either in the non-League Pyramid or two Football League and Scottish League clubs. |
