Preston, the current Forest under-23 captain, moves to the Impact Arena looking to provide another strong option within the back line for manager Billy Heath.

Predominantly a left back, Preston had a good 2016/17 as he made the step up to play for the under-23s.

He showed plenty of promise in his first year as a scholar, competing in the higher age group and holding his own as well as featuring in the under-18s as they reached the FA Youth Cup fourth round.

Preston has featured heavily for Forest under-23s this season and his quality and progression has contributed to his gaining of the captaincy for the side.

Heath told https://www.alfretontownfootballclub.com: “We've been aware of Danny for a long time and we have watched him whilst he's played for Forest under-23s. He is a solid left back with bags of quality and he has an excellent physical side to him so he will adapt well to the National League North.

“Forest rate him highly and we hope he will make a good impact for us. We look forward to working with him. Danny comes straight into the squad and is available for tomorrow”.
