The 23-year-old recently left Yeovil Town, having made 22 appearances for the SkyBet League Two outfit during his two seasons at Huish Park, with his last coming in a goalless draw against Forest Green Rovers in April.

Maddison was born in Chester-le-Street and started his career at Sunderland.

He was in the Black Cats academy until he was released in the summer of 2013.

He moved to League Two Crawley Town where he had a loan spell in 2012/13, and then moved on to the development side at Leicester City in 2014.

He had a brief loan spell at Leamington, where he made nine appearances, before moving on to Yeovil following his release by Leicester in the summer of 2016.
