Kay joins the Bluebirds from new league rivals Chesterfield.

He arrived at the Spireites in January 2018.

Kay joined then-SkyBet Championship side Barnsley in 2016 on an eighteen-month contract from AFC Flyde and made his debut for the Tykes against Bristol City in October of that year.

He then went on loan to Tranmere Rovers in November and made two substitute appearances in the National League during his time at Prenton Park.

Kay, who before joining Fylde, played for Hallmark Secrurity League side Squires Gate as part of his course with Myerscough College, made his Spireites debut in the League Two clash with Accrington Stanley on January 6th.
