Gardiner (pictured) is a 24-year-old centre-back who returns to the Lilywhites after a very short spell with Isthmian Premier side Enfield Town.

He had moved to the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium earlier this month after leaving Vanamara National League South outfit Chelmsford City.

He had been with the Clarets since late August 2019 having featured for their league rivals Eastbourne Borough, making 44 appearances and scoring 2 goals in 2018/19, and has also turned out for Dartford and St Albans City gaining plenty of National League South experience.

He started his youth career Tottenham Hotspur before signing for Scottish outfit Hibernian in July 2014, before joining Dartford ahead of the 2015/16 season after a short spell with Cambridge City.

Dembele is a left winger who joins City from Southern League Premier Division South side Metropolitan Police.

The 22-year-old was previously with Essex Senior League outfit Walthamstow and its predecessor Waltham Forest.
