Ammies Win The Race For Jones Boy
27-06-2018 I News Headlines
Vanarama National League new boys Salford City have announced the signing of central defender James Jones from National League North side Chester FC.

Shropshire-born Jones is a highly promising central defender who has been at Chester since he was 14.

He scored on his senior debut in a Cheshire Senior Cup tie and captained the youth team during the 2016/17 season.

Last season was a difficult one for Chester, but Jones seized his chance, playing a total of fourteen National League games.

He was selected for Jamie Vardy’s V9 Academy earlier this summer and looks set for a bright future.

After his contract at Chester ended, Jones was offered new terms.

Understandably there was plenty of interest in the 19-year-old, but he has opted to sign a two-year deal at the Peninsula Stadium.
