The
attacker joins the Coasters on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Walker
was born, and still lives, in Salford, just around the corner from the club’s
Peninsula Stadium.
He
started his career with Bolton Wanderers` academy, progressed through the ranks
and, under the management of former Celtic manager Neil Lennon, was handed his
first team chance in the 2014/15 season.
He
would go on to make 11 appearances before the end of that season, and scored
one goal, signing his first professional contract in May 2015.
He
made several more appearances the following season but could not prevent Bolton
from being relegated to League One at the end of the season.
He
spent the 2016/17 season out on loan to Bury and made 15 appearances in all
competitions for the Shakers but was released by then-manager Phil Parkinson
upon his return to Bolton.
Several
trials at Stockport County led to him being offered a short-term deal, after
which FC United of Manchester gave him a chance to re-ignite his career.
He
Walker joined the Ammies in January 2018 from local rivals FC United.
Capped
twice by England C, he totalled 60 appearances for Salford, netting 11 goals,
and has spent 15 games, scoring 5 goals, for Fylde`s league rivals Stockport this
season.
