Smith
returns to Somerset after an exceptional loan spell during the first half of
the season.
A
stand-out player so far for the Glovers, Smith made an instant impact capturing
the hearts of the Huish Park faithful by scoring 5 goals in his initial spell
with the club.
With
his continued stellar performances in green and whites, many fans were hoping he
would continue his spell with Town, which the club is delighted to confirm.
After
being hampered by an injury which left him unavailable for the festive
fixtures, Smith continued to support his team-mates from the side-lines,
regularly appearing at Huish Park and away grounds.
After
negotiations with Crawley, the two sides were able to settle on a deal which
sees the former Reds captain sign until the conclusion of the National League
campaign.
A
Chelsea academy graduate, Smith made one appearance for the Blue’s first team
in the 2005/06 season, as a second half substitute against Newcastle.
Moving
on to have a stellar career in the Football League Smith played for the likes
of Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City, Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship,
before signing for Leyton Orient in League One.
Smith
also had a brief spell working with current Yeovil boss Darren Sarll during the
2013/14 season at Stevenage. |
