The
26-year-old former Wales under-21 international signed for Maidenhead in June
from National League rivals Hartlepool United, having joined them in July 2017
from Guiseley AFC.
The
transfer marked the second time that then-Pools boss Craig Harrison had signed
the powerful forward, having previously plucked him from the lower leagues in
Wales when in charge at Welsh premier outfit Airbus UK Broughton.
Standing
at 6`2”, he enjoyed a goal-laden spell on loan at Tranmere Rovers in 2012/13 as
the Wirral outfit challenged for promotion from League One.
After
starring in Wales for Llandudno Junction and Airbus, it was Wolves who first
brought Cassidy into English football and he went on to gain international
recognition.
After
spending a season with Oldham Athletic, he stepped into the National League for
the first time when he signed for Guiseley.
Cassidy,
who spent time on loan with Maidstone United in 2018/19, has scored 5 goals in
25 appearances for the Magpies this season. |
