The 23-year-old centre-back has moved to England to study after a short spell with Boca Gibraltar, who he joined in August after his former club, Gibraltar United, were expelled from the league.

He had been with them since 2016 and made 66 appearances.

He started out with Gibraltar Premier Division side Lions Gibraltar where he came through the youth system.

He quickly became a regular fixture in the side but, after 28 games, was released by the club in 2015.

After spending a year out of the game, he re-signed for the Lions in the summer of 2016 before moving to Gibraltar United.

After playing for the rock`s under-19 and under-21 teams, Barnett was first called up to the Gibraltar senior team in September 2015 for matches against Republic of Ireland and Poland.

He made his international début with Gibraltar in September 2015 in game with Republic of Ireland and has 19 caps to date.
