Spireites Take Magpies Keeper for Rest of the Season

Goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons has joined Chesterfield on loan from Vanarama National League rivals Notts County until the end of the season.

Fitzsimons has found first-team opportunities hard to come by this season, featuring only twice in victories over FC Halifax Town in the league and Dagenham & Redbridge in the Buildbase FA Trophy.

The 25-year-old came through Crystal Palace’s academy system before moving to Bolton Wanderers in 2016.

Spells with Bishop’s Stortford, Braintree Town and Chelmsford City preceded a move to Meadow Lane in the summer of 2017.

He has been allowed to join the Spireites in a deal which includes an immediate recall clause.
