Barham (pictured) moves to Meadowbank on a permanent basis, having just completed a successful
loan spell that saw him play a pivotal role in the team’s unbeaten spell in
December.
The
23-year-old joins from National League side Barnet.
He
had signed for the Bees in June 2018 off the back of a season which saw him
finish as the top scorer in the Isthmian South Division with Greenwich Borough.
His
career began in the youth system at Chelmsford City, initially as a right-back,
but a move to Heybridge Swifts also brought a change of position and he soon
found himself up front and in half a season at Heybridge he had already scored
over 20 goals.
He
then joined Tilbury before Thurrock came in for the striker and he scored 15
goals as the Fleet went up to the Isthmian Premier.
He
began the 2017/18 season at Pheonix Sports before moving to Greenwich in the
autumn where he bagged 37 goals and 10 assists, finding the net pretty much on
a weekly basis – form which prompted Barnet to snap him up.
Wheeler
is a versatile wide man who is comfortable on either flank.
After
helping Woking back to the National League via the National League South
play-offs in May 2019, he remained in the division by signing for Eastbourne
Borough later that month.
He
had joined Woking in the summer of 2018, having spent the second half of the
previous season with Billericay Town.
He
joined the Blues from Dagenham & Redbridge where he showed flashes of his
potential during a predominantly frustrating spell disrupted by injury.
Prior
to his time with the Daggers he spent two successful years with Tonbridge
Angels whilst he was also part of the Charlton Athletic academy set-up in his youth.
