No less than THIRTEEN players have put pen-to-paper for the Tameside outfit, including fans favourite Greg Wilkinson, who has agreed to remain at Bower Fold.
Midfielder Wilkinson made 31 appearances for Stalybridge last season, taking his total to 196, lifting him to ninth on the club`s all-time appearance list.
Forward Josh Ramsden has also been re-signed by Haworth.
After making the step-up from Celtic`s reserves last season, Ramsden was one of the players who played during the hectic schedule towards the end of last season, making 10 first-team appearances.
Full-back Jack Taylor was also with Stalybridge last season.
He was plying his trade in Sweden before joining Celtic and also made 10 appearances.
He started his career at Morecambe and has had spells at Atherton LR and New Mills.
Haworth`s earliest new signings were Lee Knight, Scott Harries and John Marsden.
Forward Knight, 20, joins after being with Bradford Park Avenue in the Vanarama National League North last season, where he had spells on-loan at Ashton United and Halesowen Town where he notched in some important goals for the latter towards the end of last season.
Winger Harries was with Haworth at Clitheroe but left in 2016 where he went on to play for Warrington Town.
Since then, he’s played for Lancaster City and finished the season with Squires Gate in the Hallmark Security League
Marsden is a forward who joins after leaving National League North side AFC Telford United.
He has met Celtic a few times previously after playing for the likes of Stockport County, Macclesfield Town, Lincoln City and Southport.
Latest to pen deals at Bower Fold are Stephen Rigby, Callum Spooner, Ross Dent, Charlie Duke, Glenn Rule, Billy Akrigg and Danny Brady.
Full-back Rigby was with Haworth at Clitheroe, and before that, he was plying his trade at St Helens Town.
He then went on to have a great season for Clitheroe where he picked up the player of the year award.
Spooner is also a full-back has technically re-joined Celtic, although he was only with the club for one game in which he was an un-used substitute against Curzon Ashton when on loan from Bolton Wanderers.
Since being released by the Trotters he was with Ramsbottom United for a month and then spent the rest of the 2017/18 season with Glossop North End.
Midfielder Dent re-joined Haworth at Clitheroe during October last year for his second spell at the club.
He went on to win the players’ player of the season award and become a key feature in Haworth’s side.
Midfielder or right-back Duke started his career at Port Vale before moving to Torquay United where he signed a pro contract, spending spells on loan at Prescot Cables and St Helens Town.
He then signed for Rushall Olympic at the start of last season, before moving to Marine AFC, finishing the season at Kidsgrove Athletic.
Midfielder Rule will be a familiar face to Celtic fans as he made 37 appearances under former boss Jim Harvey before he decided to move back to Wales.
After making over 100 appearances for Airbus UK Broughton, he joined Stockport County until 2017 when he went back to Airbus for a short second stint, finishing the season with Bala Town in the Welsh Premier.
Midfielder Akrigg is described as a tenacious player with a good engine. He joins from league rivals Lancaster City where he spent five seasons after joining them from local side Slyne with Hest.
Brady, 30, is another to join from Clitheroe where he was in his second spell, having also played for FC United of Manchester. |
