The popular 25-year-old re-joins the Peacocks after leaving the club two years ago to play in Australia.

He originally moved to the Cygnet Health Care Stadium in October 2016 from Hereford FC after beginning his career with Bristol Rovers.

He then went on to play for Yate Town and Gloucester City and went on to join Hereford.

He made an immediate impact with the Peacocks, scoring 8 goals from his first 12 starts before he departed to play and coach in Australia in January 2018, featuring for Rockingham City and then Eastern Lions.

Staley told https://tauntontown.com: “It’s a great honour for me to re-join Taunton. I have followed their progress since I’ve been away and I’m very happy that Rob Dray and the club have welcomed me back. I am now glad to say I have officially re-signed!

“I had great success in Australia, having won back-to-back promotions in two states, and my last club Eastern Lions are now playing in the highest non-League division in the country. I can only hope to bring some of my experience back and help Taunton push for promotion. I cannot wait to get started and see you all Saturday!”
