Bolton follows the path of previous loanees Reuben Collins and Zach Robinson, who were both recalled to first team duties after impressing in Basingstoke colours.

A defensive midfielder who made his debut for AFC Wimbledon in a fixture held in Germany in 2019, Bolton has been with the Dons since he was seven year’s old.

Manager Dan Brownlie told https://btfc.co.uk: “It’s an area we’ve been looking to strengthen; of course we have boys who can play the role but to have a specialist in the position should hopefully add a greater balance to our midfield.

“We’ve got a good relationship with Wimbledon and it’s great that they see value in the continuation of that. Zach and Reuben quickly became fan favourites and we’re hopeful Elliott can have a similar impact”.
