The decision for Slade to leave, which comes into effect immediately, was made following lengthy discussions between Hereford chairman Andrew Graham and Slade yesterday.

The former Grimsby Town, Yeovil Town, Leyton Orient and Cardiff City boss took over at Edgar Street in August after being out of the game since February 2018 when his second spell with Grimsby came to an end.

Graham told https://www.herefordfc.co.uk: “We appreciate that Russell inherited an extremely difficult situation, but we find ourselves in a tough position at this moment in time and we, as a Board, need to act in the best interests of the club.

“I’d like to thank Russell for his hard work during his time at Edgar Street and wish him well for the future.”

An interim coach and supporting staff will be appointed as soon as possible.
