Joyce
has signed three more players who will look to make an impact at Hillgrounds.
Defender
Carl Mensah (pictured) joins from league rivals Welwyn Garden City.
The
23-year-old centre-back originally joined the Citizens from Spartan South
Midlands League side Colney Heath in 2015.
He
returned after a brief spell with Cockfosters in 2017 and then signed for another
SSML side, Tring Athletic, in the summer of 2018.
He
re-joined Welwyn in June 2019.
Joyce
has brought in two strikers to improve the front line.
Drew
Phillips re-joins the Walnut Boys from neighbours and rivals Bedford Town, while
Devonte Simms arrives from Southern League Premier Division side Hitchin Town.
Experienced
33-year-old Phillips is a big mobile centre forward who causes centre-backs all
sorts of trouble by running in behind and strong in the air.
He
gained good experience playing for the Nike Academy after leaving Barnet and
had his first spell with Kempston back in 2012/13.
He
joined Southern Division One Central club Barton Rovers in 2017/18 from Bedford
and his other previous clubs include St Ives Town, Dunstable Town and Cambridge
City, for whom he scored 21 goals in 43 games in 2014/15.
He
returned to Bedford in the summer of 2019 and then back to Kempston in January
2020.
Simms
is a young striker who came through Stevenage's youth system.
Leaving
the club is James Sage, who has joined Spartan South Midlands League Premier
Division side Newport Pagnell Town.
Also
leaving the club is experienced former MK Dons striker Izale McLeod, who has
retired after a recurring injury. |
