Perhaps his most important signing is that of Martin Standen, who has left his role as manager of Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Harpenden Town to take up the position of assistant-manager at the New Eyrie.

Standen arrived at Rothamsted Park in the summer of 2019 as successor to Danny Plumb and after a slow start, managed to guide Harpenden up to fourth in the table with 12 wins and 4 draws from their 22 league games.

As a player, Standen turned out for Bovingdon, Welwyn Garden City, Cambridge City, Henlow, Colney Heath, Hatfield Town and Royston Town.

Duckett told www.bedfordeagles.net: "I'm delighted to be bringing in Martin to work alongside me at the club. He is like a brother to me, going back to our days where we car shared together at Stevenage. I've known him since I was 16-year-old and trust him 100%. With this huge job, he is the perfect fit and the right man to be my assistant."

Standen`s influence has seen Alvin Magagada, a 19-year-old right back, join the Eagles on dual registration terms from Harpenden.

He was previously with Vanarama National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town.

The club have also signed 20-year-old forward Mason Wilson-Rhiney

Wilson-Rhiney (pictured) is known to Duckett from his time in the Uhlsport United Counties League with Eynesbury Rovers.

Wilson-Rhiney was originally with Hull City as a youngster and has since had spells with Blackstones, Deeping Rangers and Biggleswade Town.
