Forward Freddy Eastwood (pictured) returns to the Gulls for a second spell, having made 6 appearances earlier this season before a paperwork issue curtailed his time on the island. He is the son of Freddy Eastwood senior, who bagged 118 goals in 378 professional appearances for the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City, but it was his two spells with the Shrimpers that really made his name – netting 77 goals in 210 games for Blues. Arguably his most memorable goal came in a League Cup win against a Manchester United team containing Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. Following Eastwood Jnr to the island is young midfielder Sam Brogan, also on `work experience`. A team-mate of Eastwood`s in the Shrimpers` under-18 side, Brogan is a second-year scholar. |
