Bedford Town and BetVictor Southern League Division One Central rivals Welwyn Garden City have been involved in a player swap deal.

Goalkeeper Ryan Schmid has made the move to the New Eyrie, with defender Damien Green switching to Hurns Lane.

 

Schmid (pictured) is a tall, well-built 20-year-old keeper who signed for the Citizens from Southern League Premier Division Central outfit Central Kings Langley in the summer of 2019.

 

He began his career with SkyBet League Two side Stevenage, where he played in their academy for four seasons before playing for Leverstock Green in the Spartan South Midlands League.

 

Green joined the Eagles in August 2019.

 

He is a central defender who joined from Isthmian League Premier Division side Bishop`s Stortford.

 

He signed for the Blues from Ware towards the latter part of last season, having joined Ware from Witham Town in the summer of 2018 but suffered a long-lasting injury in training and didn't make his debut until December 2018.

 

He has also been with Chelmsford City and Heybridge Swifts.
