Matty Williams has returned to Boro for a second spell after a short stay with NPL Division One North West side Droylsden.

The 22-year-old right-sided defender began his career with SkyBet League One side Fleetwood Town.

After being released by the Cod Army in 2018 he joined Boro for the first time.

He then signed for NPL Division One North West neighbours Mossley AFC in November 2019 before switching to Droyslden last month.

Nineteen-year-old Lewis Doyle has been brought in on an initial month’s loan from League One side Accrington Stanley.

The midfielder was a summer signing at the Crown Ground from Vanarama National League North outfit Southport.

He spent his younger years in Preston North End’s academy and has also had loan spells with Witton Albion and, earlier this season, Curzon Ashton.

Also joining on loan from Stanley is forward Andrew Scott.

The Northern Irishman signed a three-year contract at the Crown Ground in the summer of 2018.

Scott (pictured) can play anywhere across the forward line and joined the Reds after being recommended to John Coleman and impressing on trial during pre-season.

The 19-year-old began playing football at hometown club Dergview, before joining Maiden City Academy as a 12-year-old.

The frontman has represented Northern Ireland at under-17 level and spent the second half of last season on loan with Boro`s league rivals Stalybridge Celtic.

Boro have also signed former Bolton Wanderers forward Luca Navarro from league rivals Buxton.

Navarro joined the Bucks in November 2018 after his release from Bolton.

He had a loan spell at Bamber Bridge while with the Trotters and had been on trial at Hull City earlier this season.

All four were included in Boro`s squad that went down to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Stainton Park to Lancaster City on Saturday, with Williams and Scott starting and Navarro and Doyle coming off the bench.
