The 22-year-old centre back has been restricted to only 11 appearances for Pools so far this term and has not featured since coming on as a late substitute in the draw at Dover Athletic a month ago.

Pools boss Dave Challinor has been keen to get him out on loan in order for him to get some regular game time under his belt and has now given the green light for a temporary switch to Croft Park.

Cunningham enjoyed a hugely successful spell on loan with Spartans during the first half of last season and will be hoping he can impress just as much upon his return to the club.
