Brunt joined
the Grecians in August 2017 having impressed manager Paul Tisdale enough in
pre-season to earn a contract.
Brunt, who
started his career off at Stoke City, had not played a competitive match for sixteen
months prior to joining Exeter, having suffered a serious knee injury playing
for Plymouth Argyle in a match against Barnet in March 2016.
Birmingham-born,
the 25-year-old started his career in the youth sides at Bristol City and then
Stoke.
Whilst on the books at the Britannia Stadium, Brunt had loan spells with
Nantwich Town, Luton Town, Tranmere Rovers and Leyton Orient.
After being
released by the Potteries outfit in January 2013, Brunt signed for Bristol
Rovers where he went on to make 35 appearances and score 5 goals as well as
have loan stints at York City and Stevenage.
Brunt was on
the move again in the January transfer window of 2015, joining Plymouth, where
he played 50 times, netting 11 times.
After turning
down the chance to train with the Pilgrims in the summer of 2017, he joined
Exeter but, despite a return to full fitness he couldn’t break into the
Grecians first-team and was released in May 2018 after making just a single
appearance.
Brunt told
Bath`s official website: “I`m happy to be here. Real exciting time for me, fit
and ready to go just need some game time. A good thing for me, a pull was that
I knew five or six of the lads. I spoke to Dan Ball and he was full of praise
for everyone.”
