The club was shocked when e Eastaugh announced his decision at Saturday`s first training session.
Eastaugh led the club through their two seasons at Step 4 following their promotion to the Isthmian League Division One North in the summer of 2016.
After finishing an impressive ninth in 2016/17, the club got off to a bad start last season and ultimately paid the price with relegation by just one point but finished his reign with the club`s first ever Norfolk Senior Cup triumph.
Despite relegation, the club was looking forward to working with Eastaugh at at attempting to re-gain promotion back to the Isthmian League and the chairman had already agreed the new season`s budget with him.
Eastaugh told the club`s website: "I no longer feel I am taking the club forward and because of this the time is right to resign from my position as manager. I would like to thank all the players and staff past and present, and of course the chairman, for their effort and support in what has been an enjoyable time. I wish them all every success for the future.
The search for his replacement will now be a high priority with the first pre-season friendly just nine days away when the Planters take on Caister at their Allendale Road ground on Tuesday, July 10th. |
