French Midfielder Joins The Shots

Vanarama National League club Aldershot Town have signed Yannis Drais from Besançon Football on a deal until the end of the season.

The French midfielder will join up with the squad and is available for selection for Saturday’s home match against Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 26-year-old, who started his youth career with French side RC Lens before moving to Wales to join Cardiff City’s academy set up, playing for the Bluebirds up to under-23 level.

From here, Drais went to try his luck in France with JA Drancy before moving to the east of France with Besançon Football where he been impressed a number of scouts, including those of Aldershot.

Following a few weeks of training with the first team, Drais has been given a short-term deal with the Shots as he looks to push for a starting line-up place.
