Former Gunner Joins Welling

Brad Quinton, manager of Vanarama National League South club Welling United, has moved to add former Arsenal defender Daniel Boateng to his squad.

The centre-back joins the Wings after most recently playing for Romanian side Aerostar Bacâu.

The 27-year-old came through the youth system at Arsenal and had loan spells with Swindon Town, Oxford United and Hibernian whilst on the Gunners books.

In August 2015 he left Arsenal and signed for Swedish side Södertälje FK before returning to Scotland with Airdrieonians a year later.

He made 24 appearances for Airdrie and the had short spells in Poland with Rakow Czestochowa and Olimpia Grudziadz before signing for Bacau in February 2019.
