Due to financial restrictions imposed it was getting increasingly difficult for them to recruit the players they felt they needed to be competitive and so has made it impossible for them to continue their duties.

Chairman Ian Beaumont said: “We would like to thank Steve and Nathan for all their efforts.

“We are going through a difficult period at the club at this present time and are working tirelessly to rectify the situation. Hopefully we will have some good news for the club very soon.

“I would personally like to wish Steve and Nathan the very best for the future and I`m sure they will bounce back.

“Steve has always been very understanding with the situation and after a conversation on Sunday I could see how devastated he was.

“The most important thing at the time is the survival of Lincoln United FC and going forward the sustainability and the future of the club”.
