Callum Powell has joined Town after being released by new league rivals Tamworth.
The 22-year-old is a graduate of Northampton Town's academy programme.
After leaving the Cobblers in 2015, he signed for Rugby Town but was snapped up by Vanarama National League side Wrexham in July 2016.
He made 24 appearances in total for the Dragons – many of those off the bench - and then impressed during a loan spell with Tamworth, then in the National League North, during the second half of the 2016/17 season, scoring his first Lambs goal during the final day home victory against Altrincham.
He signed for the Lambs on a permanent basis in the summer of 2017 but was released last month.
Earlier this close season, Powell was handed the chance to impress in front of scouts at Jamie Vardy`s V9 Academy.
Powell was selected to represent a League Football Education (LFE) representative team against a V9 Academy side under the watchful eye of over 100 scouts from clubs around the world.
He had earned his place in the side after impressing during a trial against a National Football Youth League Under-19s All-Star side at Sheffield United’s SteelPhalt Academy.
Also joining Stratford is Nathan Olukanmi.
Olukanmi enjoyed his early teens with Aston Villa and Wycombe Wanderers before going off to college in the United States where he turned out for Siena Saints.
Upon his return, he had spells with Nuneaton Borough, Worcester City and Leamington.
A pacey and direct winger, Milton Keynes-born Olukanmi has also worn the colours of Leighton Town, Arlesey Town, Barton Rovers and Cambridge City. |
