The 37-year-old has vast experience playing at the highest levels of English football.

He was part of Leicester City’s Championship title-winning squad in 2015/16 and played a big part in Southampton’s successive promotions from League One to the Premier League.

Hammond played alongside Worthing boss Adam Hinshelwood for several years at Brighton after coming through the academy.

He went on to make over 450 League appearances for the likes of Brighton, Colchester United, Southampton, Leicester and Sheffield United, scoring 41 goals.

He has taken a break from playing the game for a couple of years, having been involved back at Leicester as `loans manager`.
