Two
former Daniels` favourites have re-signed in defender Delroy Gordon and forward
Jordan Smith.
Gordon (pictured),
now 35, who can also play in midfield, re-joined Southern Division One Central
club Corby Town in December 2018 from Bedworth United having started out at
Rushden & Diamonds, Kettering Town and Rugby Town.
He
last played for Corby in the 2011/12 season in the Conference North. He left at
the end of the season to join then-Conference Premier side Nuneaton Borough,
and enjoyed a two-and-a-half-year spell there before leaving Boro to join
Leamington and Hereford United.
Since
then he has appeared for AFC Rushden and Diamonds, Stamford and then Bedworth.
He
re-joins Stamford on dual registration with United Counties League side Sileby
Rangers in March 2020.
Former
Stamford club captain Jordan Smith, who first signed for the Daniels at the
start of the 2012 season before moving onto Ilkeston after only 12 games, has
also signed whilst being on the books at UCL Premier Division side Leicester
Nirvana.
He
re-signed for Stamford again in July 2013 and has also played for King`s Lynn, Thurnby
Rangers, Corby Town, Boston United and Grantham Town.
The
31-year-old made his international debut for Antigua & Barbuda in the
Caribbean cup in November 2014.
Another
vastly experienced recruit on dual terms is striker Michael Frew, who is also
with UCL Premier Division outfit Holbeach United.
The
35-year-old has played at National League level with Nuneaton Borough and has
also had spells with King`s Lynn, Cambridge City, Histon, Lowestoft Town, Corby
Town and Wisbech Town. |
