....striker Steven Tames had moved across the border to join Welsh Premier side Bala Town.

The 26-year-old notched 32 goals for Albion last season and has already opened his Bala account with a goal in an early pre-season friendly at Cefn Druids.

However, Tames, alongside new strike partner Andy Mangan, the former Tranmere Rovers` favourite, was unable to mark his Europa League debut with a goal as Bala lost 3-0 at San Marino’s Tre Fiori on Thursday.

Tames first came to the fore after he joined Southport from Prescot Cables in the summer of 2012 after scoring 19 goals for the Valerie Park club.

He then went on loan to Vauxhall Motors in October 2013 - a move which was made permanent in February 2014.

Tames scored 11 goals in 25 games during his spell with the Motormen, including 3 goals in his last four appearances.

The 26-year-old when on to have spells with Prescot Cables, Southport, Hyde United, Warrington Town and Stalybridge Celtic before landing at Witton.
