A former Skem captain, White starred in defence for the club between 2007 and 2010 with a total of 157 appearances in which he struck 37 goals.
A dependable penalty taker, he helped the club to the NPL First Division play-off final in his first season of 2007/08 where they lost out to FC United of Manchester and departed in 2009/10 with the club again in the play-off reckoning.
He moved on to Bamber Bridge before a four-year stay at Formby where as captain he guided the Squirrels to the Hallmark Security League Challenge Cup final and in his final season led them to First Division Cup success.
Formby's demise led White to Runcorn Linnets where he continued his success from the penalty spot and earned the players` player of the year award in both 2014/15 and 2015/16.
He has also had recent stints with AFC Liverpool, where he scored 4 goals in 42 appearances, Burscough and Widnes who, along with the Linnets, he will have the chance to re-unite with in the coming season after their promotions from the Hallmark Security League.
Following the return of White, manager Dave Powell has revealed the signing of no less than six more new players.
Dave Moore, Jack McConville, Connor Belger, Jason Carey, Kieron Brislen and Terry Smith have all checked into Skem.
Moore joins the club after an excellent season with Hallmark Security League side Atherton LR with whom he swept the end of season awards, claiming the managers`, players` and supporters` player of the year accolades.
He captained the side last season as they secured safety in the First Division.
McConville joins the club after a spell with Northern Premier side Hyde United having joined risen through the youth set-up to make his senior debut against Trafford in October 2017.
He previously developed in the Burnley academy before a release in September 2016.
Belger returns to United having played in the youth set-up and being involved in the first-team squad in 2009/10.
He played for Formby before moving on to Runcorn Linnets in the summer of 2012.
He joined AFC Liverpool before his career then took him overseas to Australia to play for both Casey Comets and Langwarrin SC.
Carey joins the club having also played with Belger and White at Formby where he was nicknamed ‘The Lionel Messi of the North West Counties League’ in steering the Squirrels to league and cup success.
Either side of the success with Formby, he had a five-year stay at Runcorn Town and a move to Skem`s league rivals Glossop North End with whom he won the league and cup while also reaching the Buildbase FA Vase Final.
He also reached the NPL play-offs with Glossop before moving on to spells at Runcorn Linnets and AFC Liverpool, joining Skelmersdale from Congleton Town.
Brislen joins the club from fellow new league rivals Runcorn Linnets.
He was in his second spell with the Linnets and continues the Formby link having played from youth to senior level with the Squirrels from 2010 to 2012.
He went on to make over 100 senior appearances before the club’s demise led him to spells with AFC Liverpool and Bootle.
He initially signed for the Linnets in 2015 and earned a regular spot in the team before re-joining AFC Liverpool in mid-2016, scoring once in 45 appearances that season.
Another spell with Bootle saw him join Widnes before the return to the Linnets.
Concluding the reunions is returning goalkeeper Terry Smith, who initially joined the club in March on dual-registration terms as back up to Callum Roberts and Chris Cheetham.
He joins the club officially from Runcorn Linnets and will compete with Cheetham for the spot between the sticks this season.
He joined the Linnets at the start of last season from league rivals Trafford, for whom he made 28 appearances in 2016/17 having moved from Ashton United.
Smith has previously had spells with Nantwich Town, Southport and Oldham Athletic. |
