The vastly experienced 36-year-old centre-back joins the Gingerbreads from league rivals Mickleover Sports where he had been since the start of the campaign.

He re-united with his former Buxton manager Martin McIntosh in December 2018 by joining NPL Division One South East side Frickley Athletic as player/assistant-manager and re-joins him again at The Meres.

Young had been with Buxton since 2104 when he joined from Gainsborough Trinity.

Earlier in his career, the Yorkshireman played in the Football League for Grimsby Town and at the highest level of non-League football with Halifax Town, Altrincham and York City as well as Alfreton Town in the National League North.
