Under Goode's guidance, his management team and players have produced a highly successful period in the club's history, playing a brand of football which has been a pleasure to watch and coveted by many spectators and opposing teams alike.

The teams that he built finished as runners-up in the UCL Premier Division on two occasions (to Peterborough Sports (2016/17 and to Daventry Town in 2018/19), runners-up in the Lincs Senior Trophy in 2016/17 to Cleethorpes Town and Hinchingbrooke Cup in 2016/17 to Peterborough Sports and then in 2018/19, a first piece of silverware, when lifting the Lincs Senior Trophy with a win on penalties over Grimsby Borough.

His teams also produced many higher grade scalps in Emirates FA Cup adventures getting to the Second Qualifying Round three times, including a tie against Step 2 Kidderminster Harriers in 2017 in front of a then record crowd of 696 at The Haydon Whitham Stadium and streamed over the BBC Sports website.

History was also made in the Buildbase FA Vase in 2018/19 when the team made the last sixteen with a trip down to Willand Rovers in Devon, unfortunately a 3-2 results saw a long journey home empty handed.

Club chairman Paul Smith told https://www.deepingrangersfc.co.uk: "We thank Mike, and his team, for their tremendous work at the club over the past 5 seasons and hope that we can persuade him to remain with the club in some capacity.

“Mike is Deeping lad who saw Rangers as his ideal job - the club where he started his playing career within the junior section some 31 years ago.

“He strived to land the UCL Premier Division title as a manager, as he had done as a player with Rangers in the 2006/07 season, but that just eluded him and his team on a couple of occasions”.
