As the club prepares for next season and following a meeting between the director of football Sajid Ali Mahmood and Darby, the former Rushden & Diamonds and Shrewsbury striker has left the club with immediate effect.

Mahmood told https://www.rufcofficial.co.uk: “I would like to place on record the club`s appreciation of Duane and his efforts and wish him well in the future.”

An announcement on his replacement will be made in due course.

Ironically, just a couple of days ago, Darby had announced the appointment of Mark Jones as Redditch`s new assistant manager.

Jones was manager at Total Motion Midland League Premier Division side Lye Town before the switch to The Trico Stadium and was also formally first team coach at league rivals Stourbridge.
