Formerly with Peacehaven & Telscombe and Burgess Hill Town, Saunders joined Haywards Heath in November 2015 and that season went on to make 24 appearances and score 15 goals as the club secured promotion from the Southern Combination League.

The following season he made 37 appearances, scoring 20 times.

Season 2016/17 was ended abruptly after Saunders broke a foot in a car crash. He had played 36 games and scored 20 goals up to the accident in March 2017 which ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Last term had played 24 times with 10 goals before the campaign came to a premature end.
